On-Line Certificate Program

The Academy of Nail Design is now proud to offer students the ability to learn about the exciting Art & Science of Nail technology through our innovative Online Certificate program. 

Who is this program for?

This program is for anyone over the age of 18 interested in nail technology and who isn’t able to attend in class sessions due to distance or schedule demands.  

Is the program for everyone?

No. As with any on-line course we only recommend this program to students who feel they are self motivated and self disciplined enough to work independently and complete the program without the constant presence of an instructor.

Do I need to be Licensed? 

While we feel strongly that any student can benefit from our program, there may be certain restrictions in your local area that do not allow on line programs to qualify as formal educational credit.  In order for your education to qualify you may be required to attend a locally approved school for a minimum number of required hours and complete practical and written examinations in person.  

We have provided a brief outline of formal educational requirements in the U.S.A. and Canada

but urge you strongly before enrolling in this or any other educational program to contact and confirm with your local cosmetology or licensing board as to what educational programs are acceptable for professional level achievement and will allow you to become eligible to enter into the workforce. Please note that due to the nature of the online program, modules purchases are not refundable therefore be sure to contact local boards to confirm if this program is right for you PRIOR to purchasing the program.

What will I learn in this program?

Our FULL Online Program is comprised of 10 modules.  These include;

How does the program work?

This is a “Pay as you Learn” program which means we have designed the program to be a 4 component program with 4 EASY component payments of only $249.75 each.  No more huge upfront tuition fees.  Or you can FAST TRACK your program and get everything (all modules, all dvds and all professional kits) at once OR if budget is an issue choose our DESIGN YOUR OWN PROGRAM which means you can start your program for as little as $100.00 a payment.

To begin your program we have made it so simple!  Just click on the attached REGISTRATION Form to complete and submit to us.  We will send you an email containing an activation link. 

YOU MUST CLICK ON YOUR ACTIVATION LINK IN ORDER TO ACTIVATE YOUR STUDENT ACCOUNT. 

Once your student account is activated it will created a personalized STUDENT DESK for you on our website.  Then all you need to do is log in under the user name and password you created go to BUY PROGRAMS AND SUPPLIES and PURCHASE your program.

After the approval of your order you will receive the program component you chose. 

Here is what you’ll receive in each component:

Component 1 – All 5 theory modules which include; Today’s Nail Professional, Human and Nail Anatomy, Nail Disease and Disorders, Client Assessments, Salon and Chemical Safety.  Read through your materials then log into your student desk and take your tests online

Component 2 – Your natural nail manicure and pedicure professional kit, professional implement kit, step by step instructional DVD and your online manicure and pedicure modules.  Read through your material then log in and take your tests, watch the DVD and complete your required # of Client Practice Sheets. 

Component 3 – Your professional fiberglass kit, practice tips, step by step instructional DVD, online fiberglass module, AND your professional acrylic kit, step by step instructional DVD and online acrylic module.  Read through your material log into and take your tests online then complete the required # of Client Practice Sheets.

Component 4 – Your professional UV Gel kit – including your lamp, step by step instructional DVD and your online UV Gel Module.  Read through your material, log in and take your test online, then watch your instructional DVD and complete the required # of Client Practice Sheets.

Once you have completed all the tests and Client Practice Sheets successfully you will receive your Certificate of completion.

It’s FUN and EASY!

Do I need to be an Internet wizard to take this program? What else do I need?

Absolutely not.  The only requirements are internet (preferably high speed - but not neccessary) and a DVD player.  We provide easy to follow instructions for registering and purchasing your program.  We also love to receive pictures of your before and afters, so a digital camera is a bonus. 

Please also note that though the professional kits we send you are ‘complete’ with respect to containing enough product to allow you to complete the program there are a variety of items not included in the program you may wish to purchase such as; terry cloth towels, papertowels, a bowl for manicures and pedicures, extra tips, files and buffers etc.  A complete list of materials you’ll need to complete each application process is included in each application module.

What products do you use in the program and can I use my own products?

We use Star Nail and Cuccio products as we have found them to be great professional, affordable and student friendly products.  Yes, you can use your own products as long as they are from a reputable professional manufacturer, however there is no discount on the program costs if you use your own products. Please note that shipments of products, professional kits and DVDs can take 20-25 business days depending on where you live.

Can I buy additional supplies from The Academy of Nail Design?

Sure - with each order we send out to you we include a product catalogue or email us and we'll send you one and order sheets which you can email to us.  Please note however there is a minimum order of $75.00 and shipping and applicable taxes will be applied to each order. Please note that shipment of products can take 15-20 business days to arrive depending on where you live.

How much does the on-line program cost?

The full online nail program is only $999.00 broken down into Components of only $249.75 each!

Can I FAST TRACK my program?

Yes, you can.  In order to receive all your components in one shipment all you need to do is choose the FAST TRACK program option when purchasing your program and you can make 1 payment of $945.00 and you will receive all 10 modules, all 4 professional kits and all 4 step by step instructional DVDs in one month

Are there time limits to the program?

Absolutely not!  Even though we have designed the program to get your started in a new career in just a few short months, there are no time limits to how long you have to complete your full program.  We would rather you did it well then fast!  So take your time and enjoy the process!

Can I postpone my program?

Only under special circumstances will we allow for the postponement of a student’s program.  Requests for postponement must be submitted to the school in writing and are subject to approval of the school administrator.

What If I need help during my program?

We are always available to assist you with your program either by email or telephone (during business hours, questions submitted after business hours will be addressed next business day) and we have designed a Student Resource Centre that our students get special access to that addresses many common program and application questions.  As a student you can access this area of the wesite whenever you want.

Is the program refundable?

No, due to the nature of the online program the program fees are NOT refundable, therefore we strongly urge you to make sure this is the program for you.  Please refer to our program TERMS and CONDITIONS for full details or contact us to ask.

What Payment options do you accept?

We accept VISA and Mastercard payments as well as Interac Direct Transfers from your chequing or savings account.

How do I pay by Interac?

The first step is to complete your order with us through the shoppingcart - make sure you are logged in under your student account.  Continue through the checkout process until you get to payment method.  Input your name then under credit card # put this dummy code 0000 0000 0000 0000 security code 123 and expiry date of 12/10  Then when asked if you want to leave a note with your order just tell us you are paying by Interac.  Then proceed with the Interac transfer.

If you do online banking it is as simple and fast as logging onto your online banking and clicking on Interac Transfer - follow the steps and don't forget to email us the answer to your security answer.  It's faster and alot cheaper then Paypal and it can be done right from a chequing or savings account.

Once we receive confirmation of your transfer we will get your program and/or products sent to you.

How do I take my tests online?

Once you have read through your module materials simply log into your student account and got to your "My Desk" and click on the corresponding module test, put in your test password and complete your test online. Your tests will atuomatically be submited for grading and test results will show up on your student desk once marked.  Failed tests may be taken again up to 1 additional attempt.

What are client practice sheets?

Client Practice Sheets are a 5 page form that is required for you to fill out each and everytime you complete an application process on a model.  Each practical application module (modules 6-10) requires a certain number of sheets to be complete in order for you to have successfully passed the module.Forms are emailed or mailed into us for grading.  Before and after pictures are greatly appreciated, but are not yet a requirement of the program.

How do I receive my Online Modules?

Your Online Modules are emailed directly to you.  Once your order for your program has been approved (orders received after business hours are processed next day) we will send you emails containing all of your modules.  You should then downloaded and save your modules to your computer where you can access them at anytime.

Do I receive a Diploma?

No, our online program does not qualify for Diploma status you will receive a Certificate of Completion once you have successfully completed all required modules and corresponding tests.

Can I get a job with my Certificate of Completion?

The Academy of Nail Design does not guarantee employment upon the completion of this or any of our educational programs and would encourage you to speak to local cosmetology or licensing boards, salons and employers to access whether this program would qualify you for employment with their businesses before enrolling in this or any other program.

What if I can’t find enough models to work on?

In order to get the most out of your learning experience we highly recommend getting your hands on ‘real people’ in order to complete your Client Practice Sheets, however if you are having an issue finding willing participants then we do also recommend that you purchase the Gina Wallace Nail Trainer to practice on.  To purchase your own Nail Trainer Hand please order directly through: Gina Wallace Nail Trainer hand
